Dr. Frank Alvine is a Sioux Falls native who received his Medical Degree from the University of Washington in 1964. He completed his Orthopaedic Residency at the University of Washington in 1971 and is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Alvine started his practice in Sioux Falls at Orthopedic Associates, Ltd in 1972 and over the years developed a passion for foot and ankle surgery. Years of caring for patients with few options for treatment of severe ankle injuries and/or arthritis helped him to design and develope the Agility Total Ankle System. His dedication to this cause led him to found, together with his son Dr Greg Alvine, a Center of Excellence for treatment of severe foot and ankle problems. This center started as Alvine Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Center and has since expanded to become Orthopaedic Consultants and Alvine Foot and Ankle Center. Dr. Alvine is respected worldwide as a leader in foot and ankle surgery.
